Watershed Planning Documents
The NC Division of Mitigation Services (DMS), formerly EEP, is currently in the process of revising its River Basin Restoration Priority (RBRP) methodology and products. While DMS transitions to a new process, it is updating individual 8-digit CUs on an as needed basis. DMS will post CU-specific updates and distribute information to its distribution list. Questions may be directed to the watershed planner assigned to the basin of interest.
River Basin Restoration Priorities
River Basin Restoration Priorities (RBRPs) are plans that DMS develops to identify priorities for the protection and enhancement of water quality, fisheries, wildlife habitat and recreational opportunities.
DMS uses the priorities to guide its stream, wetland and riparian restoration and protection activities in the state’s 17 major river basins. Priorities are identified as Targeted Local Watersheds, watersheds at the 14-digit hydrologic-unit scale that receive priority for DMS planning and restoration project funds. For more information, view the RBRP Update page.
