Corrective Action Branch
The Corrective Action Branch oversees the assessment and cleanup of sites where petroleum releases and hazardous substance UST releases to the environment have occurred. Once owners and operators notify the section that a spill has occurred, the staff work with the responsible parties and the environmental consultants to ensure the highest quality cleanup possible. Once a clean up is under way, the staff may sample wells and will monitor the consultants’ work. Technical assistance visits are also available to train and inform owners, operators and consultants. Trust fund claims are pre-approved by this program. They also review technical reimbursement requests.
The Branch also oversees the Ex Situ Petroleum Contaminated Soil Remediation Permit program.
