Drinking Water Source Protection Success Stories
The Public Water Supply Section of NC DEQ has compiled a collection of Drinking Water Source Protection Stories. We have entitled these narratives "Success Stories" because of their dedication to and interest in ensuring safe drinking water for local communities. The Success Stories vary in geographic location from the mountains to the Coastal Plains, in size from rural communities to urban centers, and in cost from thousands of city dollars to millions of dollars in state grant money. Through sharing these initiatives, we hope to encourage and direct other NC communities to take steps to protect their own drinking water. As this project illustrates, the methods for protection are many and where there is a will, there is a way.
