The CCPCUA rules became effective August 1, 2002. Permits are required for groundwater users located in one of the following 15 counties Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Duplin, Edgecombe, Greene, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Onslow, Pamlico, Pitt, Washington, Wayne, or Wilson. Permits are required for groundwater users of more than 100,000 gallons per day.
