Headwater Stream Spatial Dataset Model Results
Model Results
Six models have been completed using data from the dark blue sites on the map above. The table illustrates how the model measures up to USGS blue lines when comparing each to field verified streamlines. Results vary by Ecoregion. For example, in the Triassic model 94% of stream length was correctly predicted when comparing the model to the field verified streamlines. In contrast, only 45% of the USGS stream length was correctly mapped when compared to field verified streamlines. However, in the Flatwood Ecoregion, the model has over-predicted stream length by 29% (our Coastal Plain is very difficult to model because of all the ditching that modifies stream lines in that region).
