Notice of Intent to Issue a NPDES Wastewater Permit NC0060534 Brevard WWTP The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue a NPDES wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permit will be accepted until 30 days after the publish date of this notice. The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing should there be a significant degree of public interest. Main Street, Brevard, NC 28712] has requested renewal of NPDES permit NC0060534 for its Brevard Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in Transylvania County. This permitted facility discharges treated municipal and industrial wastewater to the French Broad River, a class B water in the French Broad River Basin. Ammonia, dissolved oxygen, fecal coliform, pH and total residual chlorine are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this segment of the French Broad River. The N.C. Division of Coastal Management has certified its 50th North Carolina Clean Marina. Clean Marina is a designation given to marinas that exceed minimum regulatory requirements. Point Marina/Marine Craft in Pamlico County received certification in January and became the 50th marina to join the program.

The following parameters are water-quality limited: Total Lead, Total Barium, Acetone, Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Total Xylenes, Methyl Chloride, Naphthalene,1,2 dichloroethane, Chloroform, and 1,2 dichlorobenzene.
