N.C. DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INTENT TO ISSUE NPDES WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT #NC0003468
 

RALEIGH – The state Secretaries’ Science Advisory Board will meet on Monday, August 1, via WebEx beginning at 10 a.m. The public is invited to attend the meeting online or by phone.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Coastal Management (DCM) is awarding grants to 22 communities for Phase 3 of the Resilient Coastal Communities Program (RCCP). More than $1.14 million dollars will be made available for the completion of Phase 3.

Notice of Intent to Issue a NPDES Wastewater Permit NC0044962 North Stokes High School
The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue a NPDES wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permit will be accepted until 30 days after the publish date of this notice. The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing should there be a significant degree of public interest. Please mail comments and/or information requests to DWR at the above address. Interested persons may visit the DWR at 512 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC to review information on file. Additional information on NPDES permits and this notice may be found on our website: http://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/water-resources/water-resources-permi… by calling (919) 707-3601. The Stokes County Board of Education (P.O. Box 50, Danbury, NC 27016-0050) has requested renewal of NPDES permit NC0044962 for the North Stokes High School WWTP. This permitted facility discharges treated wastewater to an unnamed tributary to the Dan River in the Roanoke River Basin. Currently, total residual chlorine and fecal coliform are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Roanoke River Basin. The Town of Beech Mountain [403 Beech Mountain Parkway, Beech Mountain NC 28604] has requested renewal of permit NC0069761 for its Pond Creek WWTP in Watauga County. This permitted facility discharges treated domestic wastewater to Pond Creek in the Watauga River Basin. Currently no parameters are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of Pond Creek. (Public Notice will run in the Watauga Democrat on 7/20/22).
