The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue a NPDES wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permit will be accepted until 30 days after the publish date of this notice. The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing should there be a significant degree of public interest. VZ Top Mountain Villas Condominium I Association, Inc. applied to renew NPDES permit NC0037711 for VZ Top HOA WWTP, 850 Hudson Rd, Highlands, Macon County, discharging treated wastewater to Brooks Creek, Savannah River Basin. Currently, ammonia-nitrogen and total residual chlorine are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future wasteload allocations in this portion of the watershed. The N.C. Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) will meet Feb.10 at the Beaufort Hotel, 2440 Lennoxville Road, Beaufort. A public input and comment period is scheduled for noon. At the chair’s discretion, comments may be limited to three minutes per person. Prior to the commission meeting, the Coastal Resources Advisory Council (CRAC) will meet at 3 p.m. on Feb. 9 at the same location. Both meetings are open to the public.
To reduce the spread of COVID-19, all attendees should wear a mask and maintain social distance during the meeting.
