The NC Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) State Energy Office (SEO) will hold a public hearing on Aug. 17 to accept public comments on the Weatherization Assistance Program’s Annual State Plan. The plan describes the administration of the program for Fiscal Year 2027, as required by federal regulations. Members of the public are invited to attend in person or online.

The Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership (APNEP) Science & Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) provides scientific and technical guidance to the Partnership on measures to restore and protect the natural resources of the Albemarle-Pamlico region. The STAC hosts meetings every four to six months to discuss a variety of topics pertinent to APNEP activities. Recent topics include, but are not limited to ecosystem-based management, ecosystem modeling, and understanding community need and hazards.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Division of Water Resources will hold a public hearing on July 14 to accept public comments on water quality impacts from Martin Marietta Materials Inc.’s proposed expansion of a limestone quarry in Castle Hayne, located in New Hanover County.
