PERMIT APPLICATION Duke Energy Progress, LLC, 526 South Church St., Charlotte, N.C., has applied for a Renewal of its NPDES wastewater permit (NC0004774) for Buck Combined Cycle Station, 1385 Dukeville Rd., Salisbury, Rowan County. The facility discharges industrial wastewater, sanitary wastewater, groundwater, and stormwater to Yadkin River in the Yadkin River basin. Some parameters are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Yadkin River basin. The location of Outfall 001A is: Latitude: 35.713840; Longitude: -80.375390. P U B L I C N O T I C E STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT COMMISSION 1617 MAIL SERVICE CENTER RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27699-1617 NOTIFICATION OF INTENT TO ISSUE AN AMENDED CONSENT ORDER Public notice of intent to issue an amended State Consent Order to the following: The Town of Mount Olive (PO Box 939, Mount Olive, NC 28365) has requested an amended Special Order by Consent EMC SOC WQ S20-002 Ad. I for its Mount Olive WWTP, a 2.0 MGD WWTP that discharges treated wastewater to Northeast Cape Fear River in the Cape Fear River Basin under the authority of NPDES Permit NC0020575. This SOC allows a relaxed flow limit of 2.4 MGD while maintaining the permitted nutrient loads. There will be no net increase of pollutants to the River with this increased flow. The Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue the Order per Article 21 of Chapter 143, N.C. General Statutes, and other regulations effective February 1, 2024. Compliance with this order will require The Town of Mount Olive to prepare plans and specifications for construction and operation of additional treatment works as well as influent pump station improvements. The Town of Mount Olive shall comply with NPDES permit limits set forth in NC0020575 with the exception of the interim effluent limits identified in the Order. This Order will expire on May 31, 2028.
