N.C. Mining Commission
The North Carolina Mining Commission sets rules for the administration of the mining resources of the state. It acts as an advisory body to the Governor and creates rules for granting aid provided by federal authorities. Both the Mining Commission and Oil and Gas Commission were created to carry out the regulatory responsibilities of the former state Mining and Energy Commission.
The Mining Commission has five voting members and two non-voting members. Members serve four-year terms.
