The Technical Services Section consists of two branches:
- Mobile Source Compliance Branch
- Stationary Source Compliance Branch
Mobile Source Compliance Branch
The Mobile Source Compliance Branch is responsible for creating, maintaining and ensuring the programs required in this state regarding vehicle emissions are complying with state and federal rules and regulations.
Stationary Source Compliance Branch
The Stationary Source Compliance Branch is responsible for validating and quantifying plant emission to ensure compliance with state and federal rules and regulations. This inventory of air emission sources and identification of pollutants ensures regulation status, control costs and plant permit fees are accurate.
Stationary Source Compliance (SSC) consists of three main compliance functions:
- source testing
- continuous emissions monitoring and
- enforcement/compliance.
The source testing function involves the review and validation of manual source testing data to determine a source's compliance status with respect to state and federal regulations.
The continuous emissions monitoring function involves the review and validation of continuous emissions monitoring data and monitoring systems to determine a source's compliance status with respect to state and federal regulations.
The enforcement/compliance function involves the review and tracking of compliance data and civil penalty assessments in order to ensure statewide consistency in enforcement and compliance activities.
