Announcements

The NC Environmental Management Commission (EMC) is proposing initial determinations on its existing rules pursuant to G.S. 150B-21.3A.  This comment period is specific to the EMC’s RULES AND CRITERIA FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE DRY-CLEANING SOLVENT CLEANUP FUND codifiedin 15A NCAC 02S.  Each rule has been assigned a determination of either ‘Necessary’ or ‘Unnecessary’ by the Environmental Management Commission at one of its regularly scheduled meetings.  

The public is encouraged to submit comment(s) on the determination(s) and/or the rule(s).

The comment period begins July 12, 2024 and ends September 20, 2024.

After the comment period ends, the Environmental Management Commission will review all comments and make final determinations prior to submission to the NC Rules Review Commission for approval.  

Rules that are classified as Necessary will have to be readopted (formal rulemaking) by a date to be determined in the future.

Rules classified as Unnecessary will expire and be removed from the Administrative Code.

Public Notices

DSCA statutes require a public notice and comment period for any remediation strategy that relies, i n part, on land-use restrictions. The strategy used to address risks posed by contamination at a DSCA site is documented in a risk management plan, or RMP. The RMPs listed below are currently open for public review and comment. Anyone wishing to comment must provide comments in accordance with the public notice announcement for the related RMP.
