Modeling & Assessment

The Modeling and Assessment Branch uses computer models and data analyses to simulate and assess surface water resources. Staff are responsible for developing and reviewing water quality models for TMDLs, NPDES permitting, and management strategies; developing and reviewing basin hydrologic models for water supply planning; trend and other data analyses; water quality and natural conditions assessments; prioritizing impaired waters for management strategy or TMDL development; and developing TMDLs or TMDL alternatives.
