The Branch is responsible for providing guidance to local governments, addressing long-term water supply planning and demand management.  This is accomplished primarily through technical assistance which includes analysis of water supply systems through the development, review and approval of supply plans.  The Branch assists with recommendations on new sources of water supply, coordination between local water systems, and the evaluation of future water demands.   The Branch provides water efficiency and conservation information, drought monitoring and preparedness, and education and outreach.
