---|---|
Primary Applicants: | Town of Mooresville |
Source Basin: | Catawba River Basin |
Receiving Basin: | Rocky and South Yadkin river basins |
IBT: | 12.6 MGD |
The town sources its water supply from Lake Norman in the Catawba River Basin, with a pre-existing IBT allowance of 9.54 MGD on a maximum daily basis. Preliminary estimates in the NOI suggest that a transfer of 12.6 MGD from the Catawba Basin to the Rocky and South Yadkin basins will be necessary within the 30-year study period, following the existing distribution and collection system designs. However, this proposed transfer amount will be refined through the development of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), required for this IBT Certificate request. The proposed transfer of water to the Rocky and South Yadkin basins would occur through treated wastewater discharges from the collection system and consumptive demand in the service area.
