About Us
The Basin Planning Branch (BPB) is in the Division of Water Resources' (DWR) Water Planning Section. BPB develops and maintains comprehensive basinwide plans for each of the state’s 17 river basins. The plans include recommendations approved by the Environmental Management Commission (EMC) to ensure that the waters of the state are being protected.
About Us
BPB consists of five water resources planners, an environmental program consultant, a water resources spatial analyst, an aquatic ecologist and a branch supervisor.

To ensure that the waters of North Carolina are protected, developed, maintained and managed in a sustainable manner for the benefit of all water users.
