Contract Operators
A current list of certified drinking water contract operators is available for water systems seeking certified operators in their area. The list is organized by county and is made up of individuals who have indicated to our office at some point that they would be interested in additional contract work. If you would like to obtain a copy of the current list of contract operators, you may do so by e-mailing Chris Brown at chris.c.brown@deq.nc.gov. Please be advised that the Rules Governing Water Treatment Facility Operators, 15A NCAC 18D .0701(b)(8), requires that an ORC reside within a 50 mile radius of any water systems for which they are serving as ORC. Written permission from the NCWTFO Certification Board is required for any operator seeking to exceed this 50 mile limit.
Requests by certified operators to add themselves to the contract operator list or to remove themselves from the contract operator list can also be sent to the above e-mail address. Please be sure to include your drinking water operator ID number when submitting these requests.
