Drinking Water Laboratories
Finding Drinking Water Laboratories
Some laboratories report data to the Public Water Supply Section in an electronic format. Data reported electronically are saved to the Public Water Supply Section database much faster than data reported on paper copies. Once data are entered in the database, water systems can confirm receipt using the Sampling Status Report and Drinking Water Watch. Drinking water analyses must be performed by a laboratory certified by the North Carolina State Laboratory of Public Health.
*Note: Laboratories are certified to conduct a certain number of tests but may not be certified to conduct every test required of a water system. The NCSLPH Certification Program maintains a list of laboratories certified to conduct different analyses. Click here to find a certified laboratory.
